Jean-Philippe Mateta was taken to the hospital while he received oxygen after a shocking Kung-Fu-Trap from Millwall's keeper who saw red.
Only six minutes were on the clock in the FA Cup Fifth-Round Clash when Will Hughes of Crystal Palace played an excellent long pass on the field.
Mateta and Millwall Center-back Jake Cooper struggled to the bouncing ball.
But Lions goalkeeper Roberts came to run out of his box.
The 30-year-old seemed to win part of the ball.
But he then clattered in Mateta's head with his lost boot.
Ref Michael Oliver initially allowed Play to continue with Palace, but as soon as the shot left, he stopped the game.
And after he initially allowed Roberts to stay on the field, Oliver was sent to the Pitchside Var -Monitor to view a repeat.
He decided to overthrow his decision and announced the broadcast about the Tannoy in the stadium before waving the red card.
Mateta stayed down for a few minutes when he was treated by the doctors on the field.
After almost ten minutes on the ground, he was taken away on a stretcher to the corner of the ground where an ambulance waited to take him to the hospital.
The French striker received oxygen while he was taken away.
Eddie Nketiah stood up in his place in a brain replacement – which means that Palace still had their five remaining subs.
Millwall was also forced into a tactical change when Lions No1 Lukas Jensen came between the sticks – with Luke Cundle sacrificed by Alex Neil.
