The gifted grappler has excelled and destroyed every opponent in his path, most recently dismantling Renato Moicano with a Brabo choke in the first round.

The win sent shockwaves through the sport, with many confessing that this man may be the best competitor the 155-pound division has ever seen.
Even Dana White claimed that in his opinion the sambo practitioner has cemented his status as a lightweight GOAT.
During the UFC 311 post-fight press conference, the entrepreneur said: “100%, there's no doubt about it. He is the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world, and he is absolutely the best to ever do it in that division.”

Although Makhachev and Nurmagomedov have both climbed the lightweight mountain, they are not the only fighters with a right to the number one spot.
