The UFC des Moines Prelims knew the retirement of one of the most decorated strikes in the history of promotion.
UFC des Moines, head through a bantamweight matchup between Cory Sandhagen and Deiveson Figueiredo, contained many remarkable moments. The prelims contain a wild victory of coming for the first UFC victory of one bantam weight, such as Quang Le chicked Gaston Bolanos conscious for the first finish of the map.
Several veterans have dropped their gloves in the UFC Octagon so far in 2025, including Anthony Smith in UFC Kansas City last weekend. Two-time UFC Bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz announced his retirement earlier this year after he had sustained an injury prior to his planned final fight in UFC Seattle.
At UFC des Moines, one of the most experienced strand weights in the history of the promotion decided to drop the gloves in the middle of the Octagon after another defeat.

Marina Rodriguez hangs the gloves after brutal loss of Gillian Robertson
UFC Strawweight Marina Rodriguez, who entered UFC des Moines with losses in four of her previous five fights, fought against the rising competitor Gillian Robertson in a crucial matchup for both hunters. Robertson entered UFC des Moines as one of the most popular contenders of the division with three consecutive victories.
A back and forth first round between Rodriguez and Robertson was succeeded by Robertson who tried to raise the pace in round. After dropping Rodriguez for about a minute in the round, Robertson rained down on a flurry of back control bumps before the referee stepped to stop the fight.
It was an impressive version of Robertson while she sucks her up on the division ladder.
As far as Rodriguez is concerned, she was seen with her gloves because the official result was read at UFC des Moines. After Robertson had made her comments and post-fighting comments, it was Rodriguez's turn her microphone and announced her retirement for a valuated crowd that was present.
Rodriguez withdraws after an accomplished term of office in the Stromweight Division with several bookings for the main event and victories on some of the top stars of the division. She defeated the will of Yan Xiaonan, Mackenzie Dern and Amanda Ribas for her recent struggles in the cage.
Gillian Robertson shouted a former title -Ufc des Moines
After he had handed Rodriguez her shipping loss, Robertson shouted the former UFC title, Amanda Lemos for her next Octagon Booking. Lemos recently returned to the win column with a unanimous decision victory against Iasmin Lucindo on UFC 313.
Robertson's up and down starts in the UFC is firmly in the rearview mirror after her recent versions. Robertson entered UFC des Moines and won three consecutive matchups, including decisive victories over Luana Pinheiro and Michelle Waterson-Gomez.
Coincidentally, Rodriguez is the second hunter who retires after he has fallen to Robertson on the last three fights from the last. Waterson-Gomez announced its retirement to UFC 303 after a unanimous decision defeat against Robertson.
