21-year-old rising star confirms move to Arsenal despite Real Madrid interest

Arsenal is set to complete a movement for Valenica -defender Crithian Mosquera, who is already in London to complete a switch to the Emirates. The Spain Under-21 International has tackled his exit of Los Che, although he did not mention a move to Arsenal.

Mosquera, 21, no longer has a contract next summer and had decided to renew his deal with Valencia, giving them a decision to sell him this summer, or to run the risk of losing him for free. Real Madrid had identified Mosquera as a potential addition for next summer on a free transfer that might have accelerated the operation to sell it to Arsenal.

In a conversation with fans from his car on Monday, collecting his things from the Paterna training field of Valencia, he noted that he had some melancholy in leaving Los Che. Mosquera did not participate in the double session of Valencia for the season to prevent the risk of injury.

“Valencia is my home and will always be,” he is ready to leave. I arrived when I was 12, and now I leave as an adult man. I am a bit sad because I have been here all my life, but decisions in football are like that. Now a new era starts. It's exciting, but it's also sad, “he told Marca.

The next day Mosquera added that “let's see how things are going, first the club is to talk,” he told Cadena Cope at the airport on his way to London.

It seems that Arsenal and Valencia have reached an agreement for Mosquera. The reimbursement is approximately € 15 million in fixed payments, while up to € 5 million in variables can also be earned, depending on how Mosquera performs in the Premier League. The idea is that Mosquera is currently developing behind Gabriel Magalhaes and William Saliba and offers coverage for Mikel Arteta.
