Real Madrid's left-back situation in the 2025/26 season will be very interesting to keep an eye on. As things stand, Ferland Mendy and Fran Garcia are the options available to Carlo Ancelotti, although it is entirely possible that all three will be out of the club by the end of next summer.
Currently, Real Madrid are pursuing the signing of Alphonso Davies – and if he is signed, one of Mendy or Garcia will almost certainly leave. However, there are doubts about the Canadian as he looks closer to an extension with Bayern Munich.
According to Relevo, Davies staying at Bayern would open the door for Miguel Gutierrez to rejoin Real Madrid. The 23-year-old could be brought back to the Santiago Bernabeu for just €8 million, and according to the report he could even join Davies if Garcia were to join Premier League club AFC Bournemouth.
Another option for Gutierrez could be the arrival of Xabi Alonso as manager. The former Galactico has been closely linked to Ancelotti's successor, and is known to have recruited younger players during his time at Bayer Leverkusen. He could transfer this to Real Madrid, which would benefit Gutierrez.
