Barcelona could face more asset sales if they look to sign last summer's star player Dani Olmo before the December 31 deadline. Their lawsuit was dismissed after they took the legal route to try to force La Liga's hand.
Olmo and striker Pau Victor were registered under an emergency injury rule in the summer, but with Andreas Christensen and Ronald Araujo returning, they will have to do so without that benefit before the end of the month. Players cannot be registered twice in one season by one club, and Olmo and Victor are not allowed to play if they are not registered. Olmo also has a clause in his contract that could keep him free if that's the case.
As reported by MD, their lawsuit against La Liga has been dismissed. Barcelona had appealed, alleging the rules denied Olmo his right to work, and requested a suspension of the League's registration rules, but a judge in a Barcelona court rejected their request. Barcelona will launch a second legal motion next week, on December 30, claiming that La Liga's Delegate Commission is not the body that should be governing the matter.
