Real Madrid tends to leave their planning for the coming season until a little later in the year than most clubs, especially when it comes to managers and veterans. The first depend on the titles they secure, the last, limited to an annual extensions, are not least dependent on the first.
While Los Blancos seemed to be to close a deal for Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold, and started with the pursuit of the Dean Huijsen van Bournemouth, their decisions on departure will probably take place in May or June, as soon as their season is defined by the results. Ancelotti himself has a year left on his contract, but if he does not win La Liga or the Champions League, there will remain a strong chance that he will be fired.
If a new manager arrives in the summer, there will be a number of players whose futures will be questioned. Sport says that people like Thibaut Courtois, Fede Valverde, Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius Junior and Jude Bellingham Cornerstones are from the Real Madrid project, while others are such as Dani Carvajal, Eder Militao, Rodrygo Goes, Brahim Diaz. Dani Ceballos, Eduardo Camavinga and Andriy Lunin will remain in theory, while Endrick Felipe and Arda Guler have more chance of staying if Ancelotti finally goes.
However, there are several players who need the approval of Ancelotti's successor to continue in the club. The only player who will certainly leave is Jesus Vallejo at the end of his contract, but a new coach would have Carte Blanche to make a decision about the future of Ferland Mendy, Fran Garcia, Lucas Vazquez, Luka Modric and David Alaba.
Perhaps the only surprise in that list of Alaba, which is on the way back of a serious knee injury, but when Fit has been a starter for Ancelotti. It will be a hectic summer for Real Madrid, and if they go far in the club World Cup, then their season will only end in July, leaving little time left for a new manager to come in or to prepare.
