
Boxing Fight Night : Artur Beterbiev vs Anthony Yarde - Date, Time, Ticket, How To Watch
Artur Beterbiev wants to keep all the gold in the light heavyweight division. Before he can do so, the WBC, IBF and WBO lightweight champion must defend their belts against Anthony Yarde on January 28.
The fight takes place inside Wembley Arena in England's Yard's backyard.
Two-time European gold medalist Peterbiev (18-0) made his first fight in Canada, winning the WBA-NABA lightweight title in 2014. In 2017 he beat Enrico Kolling to win the IBF title (IBF). Light heavyweight title.
Beterbiev continued his lightweight dominance when he beat Oleksandr Gvozdyk in 2019 for the WBC title. In his final fight in June, Peterbiev defeated Joe Smith Jr. to win the WBO title.
All of Peterbiev's victories came by knockout. With a potential bout against WBA champion Dmitry Bivol on the line, Beterbiev is focused on the task at hand.
“I never back down from a challenge, and Anthony Yarde is one of the top competitors who asked for this fight. I am looking forward to fighting in London for the first time since the Olympics,” Peterbiev said. “Yarde called me “slow” after my fight with Joe Smith Jr. But slow and steady wins the race. And on January 28, I will win in London.
Yarde (23-2) made his professional debut in 2015. The Briton won the WBO European and WBO Inter-Continental lightweight titles in 2017. Fighting for the world champion title in 2019, Yarde lost to Sergey Kovalev in the WBO Championship WBO Light. Heavyweight title. Since then, he's gone 5-1, beating Lyndon Arthur for the Commonwealth and WBO Inter-Continental Light Heavyweight titles in 2021.
The Beast from the East's last fight was a victory over Stephanie Koekoff in November. It was his 22nd win by knockout. Yarde will look to beat the dangerous Beterbiev.
"January 28th will be my night," Yared said. “My destiny is playing in my city, and that is what I have longed for throughout my professional career, which started at Wembley. I will not make any high expectations for this fight against a strong unified champion in Artur Petriev, but what I will say is that I will leave nothing to chance, and I am at my best when I fight fire with fire."
