Tyson Fury reveals current weight as he plans to tip the scales at career-high ahead of rematch against Oleksandr Usyk

In the past, Tyson Fury has been heavily criticized for his fight preparation, especially following his fight against Francis Ngannou last year.

When it was surprisingly announced last year that Tyson Fury would face Francis Ngannou in the former UFC heavyweight champion's boxing debut, it's fair to say he underestimated 'The Predator'.

After his extremely close split-decision victory, 'The Gypsy King' claimed he had only trained for five weeks for that fight, in which he came in at a career-high 277.7 lbs.

Tyson Fury explains why he will be tough against Oleksandr Usyk

After narrowly edging past Ngannou, Fury clashed with Oleksandr Usyk last May in what was one of the greatest heavyweight boxing fights in history.

For that fight, Fury cut 15.7 pounds at 262 pounds, which was the lightest he has weighed since his 2019 fight against Otto Wallin.

After the Ukrainian suffered his first professional loss, the Brit has decided to make a big change by weighing in the heaviest he has ever been in the ring and has explained the method behind his madness.

“I want him to be the best he's ever been. Yeah, hopefully I get the best version of him. “If there was something wrong with him last time, I hope he's a million percent better and I get the best version of him on Saturday,” Fury told Sky Sports Boxing.

“I currently weigh about 20 stone (280 pounds), just over,” Fury revealed.

“(The advantage is) more power in the punches. I think so (that my best performances have come when I'm heavier), yes. When a 20 stone man punches you in the jaw compared to a 17 stone man, it's certainly a bit different.

“I'm going to beat him so hard on Saturday that he won't want to rematch, but listen, people do a lot of things for a few quid (money), nothing crazier has happened,” he continued.

Tyson Fury is making a big change to his corner team just days after the fight

At this point in the fight week of their last fight, blood had already been shed, but by neither fighter. Tyson's father, John Fury, had headbutted a member of Usyk's team, causing a cut on his own forehead.

Fury Sr has always been heavily criticized for his involvement in the pre-fight antics of 'The Gypsy King' and he has begun to do the same during Tommy Fury's career.

'TNT' Fury was set to fight former UFC star Darren Till in January, but after John Fury launched a bottle of water at Till during their pre-fight press conference, emotions began to flare.

Tommy later pulled out of the fight, claiming he was afraid Till would kick him during their boxing match if things didn't go his way.

John hasn't been spotted in Riyadh all week, leading to questions about his involvement in Tyson's corner as he was part of the Fight Night Corner team last time.

With that, SugarHill Steward established that John Fury will not be part of the corner team in Saturday night's rematch with 'The Gypsy King' decision.
