Ruben Amorim says he will 'help' Mason Mount through his injury problems after confirming the midfielder will miss 'several weeks'.
Mount made just his fourth Premier League start against Manchester City last Sunday, but lasted just 14 minutes before being forced off due to a leg injury.
Since joining Manchester United from Chelsea last July, the 25-year-old has been limited to just 32 appearances in all competitions, scoring just one goal and registering one assist in that time.
He has already missed two months of the current campaign due to hamstring and head injuries, and Amorim admitted he was unaware of the full extent of Mount's latest absence.
“A few weeks; I don't know the exact date, but it will be a long time [time]Amorim said. 'It's part of football and you have to keep going.
“What I can do is help Mason teach him how to play our game while he's recovering. Try to use that time for him to think about other things.
“The worst thing is that we don't have time to train as we should when you are recovering from many injuries.
“We are always traveling, have games, we don't have the whole team together, so this makes it very difficult to recreate the games before they come to the cinema. [actual] game.”
Overall, Mount has been limited to just 413 minutes in all competitions this season, having also endured an injury-hit first season in Manchester in which he missed five months.
In a post to Instagram on Friday, Mount said: “Words can't express how devastated I feel right now, you could probably see the look on my face when it happened. I knew what it meant.
“Fans of United, you may not know me very well, but I can guarantee one thing: I will never give up or lose confidence.
“I've said this before, but I will continue to give it my all, get through this tough period and not stop until it is achieved.”
