Ramsdale sports special pair of gloves as goalkeeper makes Southampton return

Aaron Ramsdale wore a special pair of gloves after returning to base in Southampton following finger surgery.

Ramsdale, 26, was settling in at Southampton after leaving Arsenal last summer, despite the club being bottom of the Premier League.

After losing his number 1 spot at the Emirates to David Raya, he spent most of last season on the bench before leaving the club for the Saints.

However, he had to sit out the last five Premier League games after breaking his finger when James Trafford was called up in his place.

The Saints claimed just one point from those matches, conceding fifteen goals in the process.

And Ramsdale's return was a welcome sight ahead of Sunday's summit with Fulham.

He was able to do this by wearing a unique pair of four-fingered gloves.

It was the club's first match since Ivan Juric was appointed as new manager on an 18-month contract.

Juric, who has had a decade-long career as a manager in Italy, replaces Russell Martin.

This is already his second job of the season, having been sacked by Roma in November after just 12 games in charge, having only joined in September.

The newly promoted side have collected five points in 16 games and won just once against Everton, although performances under Martin have been encouraging at times.
