Gary Neville has claimed Man United's 3-0 defeat to Bournemouth will be a 'huge positive' for Ruben Amorim.
After a dramatic comeback win over Man City and a spirited display against Spurs in the Carabao Cup in midweek, United put in a dismal performance against Bournemouth on Sunday.
Andoni Iraola's side dominated play at Old Trafford, with goals from Dean Huijsen and Antoine Semenyo either side of Justin Kluivert's penalty to earn a comfortable victory for the visitors.
Amorim lamented his side's 'nervous' performance and insisted they will 'have to suffer again' as he continues his ambitious rebuild.
As part of his rebuild, Amorim has rotated his squad often, offering a number of first-team stars the opportunity to showcase their talents under the new boss.
And in the wake of the Bournemouth defeat, Neville suggested Amorim will have a better understanding of the players he can rely on.
Speaking on the Gary Neville Podcast, Neville said: 'I think it's a huge positive that Ruben Amorim sees what he has.
“There have been times in the past when you could be fooled into thinking you have a better group of players because of good results and rising in the league. But they are, for all intents and purposes, a mile away.
'If he plays the way Amorim wants to play, with the 3-4-3, he will have to change that. He's given everyone a chance by rotating the team and I don't think there will be many that he's looked at and thought, 'Yes, I want you on the bus.'
'They are all very mediocre, and I don't know why; they are better than what they show, let's be clear. But it's a pattern.
“He's got a six-month beauty parade, if you like—which is more of an ugly parade. Seeing what Manchester United fans have been watching over the past decade, there needs to be a cultural overhaul.
“It's a really torrid time, there's not much to say about the performance levels or the way they're playing. They are all guys who are trying their best, it is not a personal attack, but they are not good enough to play for Manchester United because this club wants to be at the top.
“It's very clear when you look at these players, they're not good enough.”
After Sunday's match, Amorim himself admitted that everyone at United is 'suffering' and 'tired' of losing.
“Right now everything is so difficult,” Amorim said. 'When a club like Manchester United loses 3-0 at home, it is very difficult for everyone.
'The fans are very disappointed and tired. You already feel it in the stadium during the first match. I understand that, but we have to face it. I felt it from the first minute, there is a lot of fear.
'We want to score, but we are too nervous. After that third goal, everyone in the stadium suffers: the fans, the players, everyone.'
Fans booed after the final whistle at Old Trafford as a fourth defeat in six games left United in the bottom half of the table for the first time since 1989 at Christmas.
