‘We are done!’ – Conor McGregor threatens to cancel multi-million dollar DAZN broadcast deal in foul-mouthed rant

Conor McGregor was left unimpressed after DAZN made what he thought was a poor broadcast decision last night.

The Irishman watched the action which took place in Hollywood, Florida from Dubai where he is currently on holiday and training for a UFC or boxing fight next year. And he was unimpressed with a key part of the broadcast, taking to social media to express his displeasure.

In recent weeks, McGregor has taken on more of a backseat role in his various promotional deals. But he has kept himself in the headlines when it comes to BKFC, where he is co-owner and one of the main promoters alongside David Feldman.

Conor McGregor is furious with DAZN and threatens to cancel the broadcast agreement

Conor McGregor woke up on Saturday night and spent a lot of time with DAZN. He first tuned into the heavyweight title fight between Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury, before switching to the non-pay-per-view BKFC show.

There he was treated to a night of knockouts and other action, although one problem emerged. After the fights were over, the promotion seemingly continued as normal without giving the fighters a chance to be interviewed.

This seemed to irritate McGregor, who expressed his displeasure on social media. “DAZN I DONT GIVE AF***,” in the most pointed message of all. “If you don't get our winners on the mic, we're done!”

The deal between DAZN and BKFC is relatively new, and the famed broadcaster has only shown a small number of fights in this long-term streaming deal so far. But McGregor already feels comfortable making demands on production via social media.

BKFC's DAZN broadcast deal was signed in recent months

Earlier this year, McGregor and David Feldman came together to host the first BKFC event on DAZN from Marbella, Spain. They packed the Arena Marbella and announced a shiny new broadcast deal believed to be in the millions.

In a press release announcing the deal, Jared Kass, SVP North America, DAZN Group, expressed his excitement about the partnership in September: “We are thrilled to become the exclusive home of BKFC's premier events.

“This partnership reflects DAZN's commitment to delivering innovative and unforgettable martial arts experiences. With BKFC part of our portfolio, fans around the world will have access to some of the most exciting fights and content in the sport.”
