Conor McGregor breaks silence with cryptic tweet as potential Jake Paul fight emerges from Logan Paul talks

Conor McGregor shared a vague tweet last night after rumors swirled that he might meet another Paul brother.

The Irishman has not competed in the Octagon for three years and has been unable to set a date for a return fight since pulling out of his fight against Michael Chandler at UFC 303 last summer. But last week he claimed he had agreed to leave social media and WWE star Logan Paul to meet in an exhibition boxing match.

Now reports indicate McGregor could be heading for a showdown with Logan's brother Jake Paul instead. The event is funded by the multi-billionaire Ambani family and would take place in India if it were to happen.

Conor McGregor claimed last week that he was fighting Logan Paul

Last week, Conor McGregor put social media on edge when he tweeted that he had made 'tentative arrangements' for a boxing fight with Logan Paul. Many fans believed he meant Logan's brother Jake, a much more established boxer, but it later emerged he had not been in the conversation.

'The rumors of a fight with Topurio [UFC featherweight champion Ilia Topuria] are false,” he wrote. “I have made preliminary arrangements with the Ambani family to meet Logan Paul at a boxing exhibition in India. I agreed. I will then seek my return to the Octagon.”

He later confirmed that he would earn a career-high purse worth in the hundreds of millions, adding: “TKO Group! UFC vs. WWE. There are levels, a big sloppy novice will find out! TKO KING TITLE!

“#BiggestGenerator #KingofNumbers #Streams #PPV I own every record and I'm coming back to take this new kid out and get more numbers for the company. #StockMarketIndia #MyHighestPayPacketYet #Thanksforthecheese,”

Jake Paul is emerging as a potential opponent for Conor McGregor following Logan Paul's announcement

Initially, Jake Paul claimed that he had refused to enter into any form of negotiations with McGregor's team or the Ambani family without the direct involvement of the UFC and Dana White. This was later confirmed by Ariel Helwani, who noted that Jake was the natural first choice after facing Mike Tyson.

Jake wrote about X: “Now it all makes sense why Conor Mcgregor and his management team desperately tried to get MVP to negotiate a fight between us.

“As we told them privately and I'm saying it publicly now… The only way we want to explore me versus Conor in a pro boxing/MMA fight is if Dana White/UFC is right at the table or makes it clear they are okay with discussions. Conor is being washed. Needs the Paul. Logan does it the way he wants.”

However, in the following days, things may have changed, with ESPN KnockOut's Salvador Rodriguez tweeting: “Jake Paul vs. Conor McGregor on the table for July, August or September 2025 in India…”

Conor McGregor posts for the first time since the Jake Paul rumor started

Rodriguez's tweet got fans talking on social media, and just a few hours later, McGregor decided to take to social media and tease something. The Logan Paul fight may have made more sense on paper, as the WWE and UFC are intrinsically linked by being part of the TKO Group.

Older brother Paul confirmed his return to WWE last week after claiming he was 'retired'. He even dropped a McGregor-themed Easter Egg during Netflix's press conference when he declared he was “not here to participate, but to take over.”

And in his first post since the new Jake Paul rumors surfaced, McGregor alluded to that connection by simply writing: “TKO.”
