Barcelona tracking Premier League left-back with available on a free

Barcelona and Real Madrid have made good use of the free agent market in recent years, and now the Blaugrana are still struggling financially, it wouldn't be a surprise if they dive back in next summer.

Sporting director Deco has identified the full-back positions as one of the priorities for next summer, and Sport says one of the players he is monitoring is Crystal Palace left-back Tyrick Mitchell. The 25-year-old player's contract expires next summer and has yet to sign a new contract.

But if money is a priority, that could be a problem for Barcelona. Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal are also keeping an eye on their London neighbor – Mitchell can sign a pre-contract in a week as he enters the final six months of his contract.

Barcelona have also been linked with AS Monaco's Caio Henrique, Feyenoord's Hugo Bueno and Benfica's Alvaro Carreras in recent months. However, it remains to be seen what kind of budget they will have to work with, and it seems relatively unlikely that they will make a move anytime soon.
