Jake Paul has hit social media for the first time since reports emerged that he may fight Conor McGregor next month.
The social media sensation turned boxing star is coming off a monstrous event on Netflix with Mike Tyson, and it was unclear where his future in the ring would lie. Last week, McGregor claimed he had reached a tentative agreement to fight Jake's brother Logan Paul.
However, Ariel Helwani reported that Jake was the first choice but wouldn't even enter into negotiations if the UFC and Dana White were directly involved. And now it appears sources are telling ESPN that a possible clash with the Irishman could happen next year.
Reports are emerging that Jake Paul could fight Conor McGregor, and not his brother Logan
The first conversation about McGregor vs. Paul would be about Conor McGregor taking on Logan Paul, which he announced last week. The former two-weight world champion claimed to have made preliminary arrangements for a fight in India financed by the super-rich Ambani family.
'The rumors of a fight with Topurio [UFC featherweight champion Ilia Topuria] are false,” he wrote. “I have made preliminary arrangements with the Ambani family to meet Logan Paul at a boxing exhibition in India. I agreed. I will then seek my return to the Octagon.”
However, yesterday, ESPN KnockOut's Salvador Rodriguez seemingly tweeted a change to proceedings, writing: “Jake Paul vs. Conor McGregor on the table for July, August or September 2025 in India…”

This would be in line with Ariel Helwani's reporting on the situation, who has noted that the family initially wanted Jake. He is the more established boxer and also physically much smaller than Logan, making it a more natural fight.
Jake has boxed consistently as a professional for the past four years, while Logan has been much more sporadic and less successful. He won for the fourth time last year after asking McGregor's good friend Dillon Danis, but has since focused on WWE.
Along the way, Jake has built a strong professional track record, including victories over UFC champions such as Anderson Silva and Tyron Woodley. He even dropped McGregor's arguably biggest rival Nate Diaz on his way to a comfortable win in the ring last August.
Jake Paul speaks for the first time since Conor McGregor's fight report
Since the report came out, fans have been waiting to hear from both men about what happens with the fight. McGregor left a brief tease but was otherwise unusually quiet, while Paul had remained completely silent thus far.
The 11-1 boxer posted a one-word message to X that simply read: “Shhh.” This follows a report last week in which he dismissed McGregor and claimed that Most Valuable Promotions had been contacted about a fight, but that they would only negotiate with direct involvement from the UFC.
At the time, Jake wrote about
“As we told them privately and I'm saying it publicly now… The only way we want to explore me versus Conor in a pro boxing/MMA fight is if Dana White/UFC is right at the table or makes it clear they are okay with discussions. Conor is being washed. Needs the Paul. Logan does it the way he wants.”
