PSG ready to hand Bukayo Saka injury solution to Arsenal with transfer proposal

Paris Saint-Germain are likely to offer Arsenal the chance to sign out-of-favour striker Randal Kolo Muani.

Arsenal have been hit by the news that star man Bukayo Saka will be out for 'many weeks' with a hamstring tear and are considering a solution for his absence in the January transfer window. Saka, 23, has played the fourth most minutes among Arsenal outfielders this season and the Gunners have no natural right winger to replace him.

His injury has left Mikel Arteta in a dilemma as the winter window approaches, but PSG could have the answer to his problem in the form of Randal Kolo Muani. The 26-year-old was signed for £64.2 million in the summer of 2023 after excelling for Eintracht Frankfurt when attracting interest from Manchester United. Kolo Muani was expected to play a bigger role under Luis Enrique following the departure of Kylian Mbappe, but he has only started two Ligue 1 games this season and played just 28 minutes of football in the last month.

The France international has now been loaned out despite being under contract until 2028, with the Evening Standard reporting that the French champions will offer him to a number of clubs in January, including Arsenal.

Saka's absence is further compounded by injury Raheem Sterling, who would have been in contention to replace him in the Gunners' starting line-up against Ipswich Town on Boxing Day. Asked about the prospect of signing a replacement for Saka next month, Arteta stressed his focus is on players already at the club.

“My focus now is honestly on the resources we have within the squad to be as competitive as possible,” said the Arsenal manager. “We have a lot of options to do that. And if there is something unbelievable [becomes] available and if the club is willing to do so, we will have to consider it.”

Arteta added that the Gunners had already prepared for an injury to one of their key players, having already lost Martin Odegaard to a long layoff earlier this season. “The preparation is done and we are ready if anything happens,” he continued.

“We obviously didn't predict a situation with Bukayo and Raheem at the same time. We were more predicting that it would be something different, for example if something happened in the defensive line, but the job is done.”

“Then, okay, if something needs to be done, we will be open. But the main focus now is: how are we going to get a lot of potential out of this team.”
