Fati has requested to continue training during the Christmas holidays, and this has been welcomed by Flick and Deco.
On Monday, Fati started his “mini-preseason” at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper. In addition, he will have two more individual training sessions on December 27 and 28, the last two days of Barcelona's break. Fati's request is welcomed by Flick and Deco as it shows his commitment despite difficult circumstances.
Last season Fati's performances were less than ideal after being loaned out to Brighton. After returning to Barcelona, he won the trust of Flick and Deco early this season, but a foot injury at the end of July disrupted his good preseason form and prevented him from touring the US.
After recovery and some time as a substitute, Fati was injured again in mid-November. He made a full recovery last Friday, but due to the intensity of the El Clasico match and his lack of rhythm, Fati did not play. Now he has requested a few more days of training to improve his physical condition, as the Copa del Rey (January 4) and the Supercopa de España (January 8) are approaching.
Barcelona have arranged a professional team (fitness coaches, physiotherapists and doctors) for Fati to serve him during the break.
