Barcelona may have been unlucky to go down against Atletico Madrid on Sunday, but there is little argument he is under pressure to turn things around. Not only did it leave them behind in La Liga, but it also contributed to a series of worrying statistics.
Before the match, many had pointed out that despite the different stories between their two seasons, Xavi Hernandez and Hansi Flick had both achieved 38 points from their first 18 games – Xavi won his 19th. It is also the first time that Barcelona has lost three home games in a row.
Flick has lost more Liga games (5) than Xavi in all of last season, but the Blaugrana are in the worst form in the entire division, with just one win and five points from their last seven games.
As MD has noted, these losses also cost Flick comparisons with managers outside of Xavi. They say Flick's five losses in 19 games mean a 26.3% losing percentage. It compares poorly with Xavi (15%), Ronald Koeman (21%) and Quique Setien (16%).
