Maghnes Akliouche (22) made the decision to stay with AS Monaco this summer, despite reported interest from Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain. That decision remains unchanged, despite AC Milan now participating in the race.
“It is his decision and ours that the priority is to stay. We are in good discussions with him and his agent about a contract extension,” Monaco CEO Thiago Scuro said in an interview attended by Get French Football News in July. Later that month, the French youth international extended his contract with the club from the Principality until 2028.
However, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, AC Milan are aiming for a January transfer for the playmaker. But Monaco will remain unmoved. Akliouche will not be for sale in January, Fabrizio Romano confirms.
Although he is unlikely to leave this winter, a summer move could be on the cards. Monaco's model is such that it becomes necessary to sell their prestigious academy products and having confirmed the promise of his breakthrough season during the current campaign, a move could be on the cards at the end of the season. Many top clubs will again come to the fore for Akliouche.
