Barcelona President flying flag for signing despite internal doubts about winger

Barcelona may struggle to sign them, but their financial situation won't stop them from signing stars. Next summer will be no exception as the Blaugrana are linked with a star signing in the frontline.

One of the names touted for the left wing, alongside Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Nico Williams, is AC Milan star Rafael Leao. The Portuguese has had a falling out with manager Paulo Fonseca, although they appear to have patched things up, but Marca says he could be up for sale for somewhere above €75 million.

However, Leao is a player who divides opinion in Can Barca. Agent Jorge Mendes is a keen believer in Leao's abilities, and given he has a close relationship with president Joan Laporta, it is perhaps no surprise that Laporta is his biggest defender at the club. However, others within the athletic department are less enthusiastic about the 25-year-old. There are doubts about his attitude, even though they appreciate that he is a good player.

One of the previous arguments for Leao is that he would give the Blaugrana a second player who could beat their man, outside of Lamine Yamal. On the other hand, Leao often likes to 'cheat' without the ball, which may not suit Hansi Flick's intense pressing system.
