Arne Slot believes there are more outside noises involving Trent Alexander-Arnold compared to Liverpool's other two contract rebels.
The Liverpool defender has just six months left at Anfield. Once the January window opens, he can enter into talks with foreign clubs about a free transfer in the summer.
However, Alexander-Arnold is not the only star who could leave. Both Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk are also out of contract this summer and can leave for nothing.
But Slot believes Alexander-Arnold's situation is slightly different due to the ongoing speculation surrounding a possible move to Real Madrid. When asked whether the current position of the three stars differs slightly, Slot replied: “Not on the inside, but on the outside, especially because people talk about it more.
“Not only about these three, but also about other players. So it will also be about those we bring in or those who could also leave.”
When asked further if the academy graduate was the biggest concern in terms of his deal, the Dutchman added: “I don't think it's negative at all. He's playing very well, he scored a great goal and the way he this fourth probably says it all.” .
“I don't think I need to say too much about it. I am very happy with Trent, just like I am with Mo and Virgil. For me there is no difference. Maybe there is more happening in the media.” [with Trent] than the other two, but I'm very happy with the three.”
Slot's comments come on the same day that new ties with Real Madrid were established. AS claim a move to the Santiago Bernabeu is 'almost complete'.
Out of respect for Liverpool, any move will be completed ahead of an official announcement closer to the summer. Alexander-Arnold was apparently not keen on leaving mid-season.
Meanwhile, the defender appeared to drop a subtle hint during the Reds' Premier League win against West Ham on Sunday. After finding the back of the net with a deflected effort, he celebrated by raising a hand to his ear and pretending it was talking.
Alexander-Arnold wasn't the only Liverpool star to drop a hint after a goal. Egyptian striker Salah also shone, but revealed a new contract was still some way off.
“No, we are still a long way from that,” Salah told Sky Sports when asked if there would be any good news soon. “I don't want to put something out in the media and people start saying things but nothing really [has] I've moved on, but for now I'm concentrating on the team and hopefully we win the Premier League.”
