Arsenal could strengthen their squad in the upcoming January transfer window in a bid to boost their bid for the Premier League title.
Liverpool currently have a commanding lead at the top of the table and Arsenal will be hoping they can capitalize if the Reds make a mistake. Mikel Arteta's side are unbeaten in their last eight league games and the Gunners will look to continue this form in 2025 when they travel to Brentford on New Year's Day.
With all that in mind, Mirror Football takes a look at the latest transfer news from and around the Emirates…
Isak asking price
Arsenal have been heavily linked with a move for Alexander Isak, but Newcastle are demanding a massive £150m for the striker.
Newcastle do not want to sell the forward and with more than three years left on his contract they are in a strong position. According to the Telegraph, Newcastle are 'relaxed' about Isak's future and plan to open talks on a new deal soon.
The report adds that Paris Saint-Germain, Barcelona and Real Madrid are also interested in the forward, while Liverpool see Isak as a potential replacement for Mohamed Salah if he does not agree to a contract extension.
The search for goalkeepers is broadening
Arsenal have expanded their search for a new goalkeeper to provide cover for David Raya.
Espanyol's Joan Garcia is on their radar but it remains to be seen whether Arsenal will decide to trigger his £25m release clause. While Garcia is their main target, Boca Juniors goalkeeper Leandro Brey is also being scouted by the Gunners.
He is believed to have a £12million release clause and is also attracting interest from the likes of Lazio, Napoli and Atletico Madrid. Neto was loaned from Bournemouth last summer as a replacement for Raya, but Arsenal are not expected to make the move permanent.
Vieira plans
Porto manager Vitor Bruno has denied suggestions that Arsenal will recall Fabio Vieira next month after the midfielder dropped victory to Boavista on Sunday.
“I have to make decisions, pay close attention to the players' performances and how they see their daily activities,” Bruno said. “Fábio is very talented, but talent must be based on a series of assumptions. And if one or two of them fall apart, everything becomes more difficult.
“He has enormous potential and I have a large team that offers me guarantees. I cannot give up certain principles that are mine. I do not have to pass on any message. Fábio knows me well and we count on him. He has a enormous potential.” will be available to play again next week. So it's a matter of making decisions.”
