Francis Ngannou responds to a recent callout from heavyweight boxer Deontay Wilder as he reveals future plans

After finally making his PFL debut last October, Francis Ngannou has once again hinted at a possible return to the boxing ring.

Former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou finally made his PFL debut last October after signing with the promotion last year.

'The Predator' went on to defeat Renan Ferreira in the first round of their highly anticipated 'Battle of the Giants' fight, proving that he is still one of the best heavyweight MMA fighters in the world.

Deontay Wilder shows interest in a boxing fight against Francis Ngannou

During his time away from MMA, Ngannou achieved success in the boxing ring, and despite losses to Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua, he earned astronomical amounts of money.

Although he suffered a devastating loss by second-round KO to Joshua, the 38-year-old made it clear he would return to the ring in the not-so-distant future.

One boxing match that fans have been asking for since his rise to fame in the sport is a fight against fellow power puncher, Deontay Wilder.

'The Bronze Bomber' recently re-expressed his interest in a potential fight against Ngannou, telling TMZ Sports: “Yes, that's a combo station. I'm still looking to get into the mix there and talk about it.

The 39-year-old is coming off two painful defeats to Joseph Parker and Zhilei Zhang, making a potential fight against Ngannou even more interesting.

Despite his recent debut in the PFL Smartcage, Ngannou still has hopes of competing in both MMA and boxing, and is intrigued by the potential clash against Wilder.

The problem the 38-year-old has when it comes to continuing his career under the PFL banner is that the promotion's heavyweight roster isn't exactly full of exciting matches for him.

“I will wait a few months to see if the PFL brings anything forward,” Ngannou told TMZ Sports.

“And if not, I'll see if there's anything in boxing. Or. But it's not like I think about it that way, I know I can do both.

“Nothing has changed since me and Wilder spoke. In my view, if I have a few fights left, I would like this to be one of them,” Ngannou continued.

As the PFL looks for another potential heavyweight challenger, Ngannou will continue to assess his options in both sports and has even commented on a potential fight against Jake Paul.
