The transfer window has officially opened, but don't expect Manchester United to go bankrupt this month.
The Red Devils will have to get to work in January if they want to provide their new head coach, Ruben Amorim, with the fresh faces that his beleaguered team seems to desperately need.
United are languishing in 14th place in the Premier League after back-to-back losses over the Christmas period. And with a tricky trip to arch-rivals Liverpool looming, things could get even worse for Amorim and co.
As speculation continues to mount over what United will or won't do in the January transfer window, Mirror Football brings you the latest transfer news and gossip from Old Trafford…
Rashford takes action
Marcus Rashford has reportedly opened talks with a new agency as he tries to secure a move away from Manchester United.
The forward, 27, is represented by his brother, Dwaine Maynard. But according to The Sun, Rashford has held talks with the Stellar group and wants to get more input on his next move.
Stellar famously assisted Gareth Bale in his successful move to Real Madrid in the past and could help Rashford find a new home, although it remains to be seen whether that is feasible in the January window or not.
Amorim decides on priority signing
Ruben Amorim wants to sign a new goalkeeper after Andre Onana's inconsistent performances.
United paid big money to sign the Cameroon international from Inter Milan in the summer of 2022, but Onana has made a string of high-profile mistakes since moving to Old Trafford.
And while the 28-year-old has been in better form so far this season, Amorim is looking to sign a new goalkeeper to push him into 2025, according to The Manchester Evening News.
Casemiro ready for Saudi Arabia
Casemiro is said to be willing to consider a move in January as clubs in the Saudi Pro League consider a move for the experienced midfielder.
The Brazilian star, 32, has faced widespread criticism over the past 18 months following a decline in form. And that has led to speculation that United may want to waive the veteran's substantial salary, despite impressing during his first season at Old Trafford.
According to Brazilian UOL, there are no fewer than six Saudi Pro League clubs in the race to sign Casemiro, including Cristiano Ronaldo's Al-Nassr.
