Neal Maupay has reopened his age-old feud with James Maddison after again copying the Tottenham star's darts celebration.
The Frenchman was on target for Marseille in their 5-1 win over Le Havre on Sunday, scoring his third goal since joining on loan from Everton last summer.
After finding the back of the net in the 43rd minute, Maupay mocked Maddison's celebration, with his Marseille teammates joining in.
Luis Henrique, Michael Murillo, Derek Cornelius and Adrien Rabiot joined the striker on the spot as their team took a 3-0 lead just before half-time.
Maupay first joked about Maddison's celebration when he was at Brentford, in a 3-2 defeat to Tottenham in February 2024.
After his opening goal, Maupay rode away in celebration and then imitated Maddison's signature move, alongside Ivan Toney.
He and Maddison had a heated argument after the celebration, although the latter would ultimately have the last laugh by taking three points.
After the match, Maddison revealed what he told Maupay after the celebration, before the two then referenced each other in posts on Instagram.
When Maddison was asked what he told Maupay about TNT Sports, he said: “I just said to him that he probably hasn't scored enough goals in recent years to celebrate his own, so he had to copy mine.
'Short story, but it turned out well for us.'
The Brentford striker later responded on Instagram, writing: 'Glad we couldn't get the win. More goals and fewer relegations in my career than James Maddison. We're going to Bees again on Monday.'
The Tottenham star posted a photo of Maupay to his Instagram during the celebration, with the caption: 'A short story… COYS'.
Maupay responded to Maddison's post and wrote, “Ahaha rent free,” with kissing emojis.
Maddison is a huge darts fan and has been celebrating this festival since his days at Leicester.
Brentford's celebration led to an awkward exchange between Maupay and Maddison, with the latter clearly unimpressed.
Maddison patted Maupay on the back of the head, before the Brentford man tapped the England star more forcefully on the chest.
The Tottenham playmaker had his hand on Maupay's neck as the pair exchanged words before the Brentford star walked away with a grin on his face.
