TOTTENHAM star Rodrigo Bentancur suffered a serious injury against Liverpool and had to be taken off the field.
The midfielder landed awkwardly after challenging the ball in the air during a corner kick.
Bentancur missed the ball as he dived low to reach it, and appeared to injure his right arm as he reached the turf.
He remained rooted to the spot where he fell, causing alarm among the rest of the players.
His teammates became concerned and Pedro Porro rushed to his assistant as he lay motionless on the ground and placed him in the recovery position.
Stars from both sides immediately beckoned the physios and medical staff onto the pitch to attend to Bentancur.
The Argentine was treated for about seven minutes and given oxygen as he was taken away on a stretcher.
It forced Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou into an early change as Brennan Johnson came on to replace the stricken star.
It is the second time Bentancur has been eliminated this season after colliding with Leicester star Abdul Fatawu in the opening game of the season.
Tottenham have been hit by an injury crisis in recent weeks and played against Liverpool with several youngsters, including Archie Gray again at centre-back.
There was also a debut for Antonin Kinsky who only signed from Slavia Prague this week.
Bentancur, 27, only recently returned from a lengthy suspension after being found guilty of uttering racist comments towards teammate Son Heung-min.
He missed seven games due to suspension and returned against Nottingham Forest on Boxing Day.
