“The rules are not the same for everyone” – Athletic Club continue criticism of Barcelona registration decision

There continues to be plenty of debate over the decision to grant Barcelona a precautionary measure for the registrations of Dani Olmo and Pau Victor, which was confirmed by the Higher Sports Council (CSD).

Athletic Club in particular, which was defeated by the Catalans in the Spanish Super Cup on Wednesday, has spoken out on this subject. Basque club president Jon Uriarte called the decision 'grotesque', while striker Inaki Williams has now claimed the rules appear to be inconsistent, according to Relevo.

“In the same vein as I think all football fans are: surprised (by the decision). It seems the rules are not the same for everyone. We don't have to decide and if they decided this for a reason, then it must be for a reason, but it continues to surprise us.”

Barcelona are unlikely to notice any of this noise as they continue their preparations for Sunday's Spanish Super Cup final against Real Madrid or Mallorca. As things stand now, Olmo and Victor will be available for that.
