Real Madrid's search for the next big thing in their backline looks set to continue as Manchester City close in on two of their top targets. Los Blancos have had to resume their search for a young centre-back since Leny Yoro escaped their clutches.
Following reports that City have agreed personal terms with Palmeiras' Vitor Reis, Fabrizio Romano now explains that Pep Guardiola's side are nearing a deal for Abdukodir Khusanov. The RC Lens centre-back has caught the attention of Europe's top clubs, with the Italian transfer journalist saying City and Lens are also close to an agreement after Khusanov gave the green light.
There is talk that the deal could be between 25 and 40 million euros for 20-year-old Khusanov, who moved from Uzbekistan two years ago. Raul Asencio has impressed for Real Madrid, but the sounds coming out of the club are that they will look to the transfer market to find their next long-term starter.
