Lyon have reached a deal worth 17 million euros for the transfer of Academy graduate Maxence Caqueret, 24, to Serie A side Como, L'Equipe can reveal on Friday. The 24-year-old fell down the pecking order under the tutelage of Pierre Sage, with Corentin Tolisso, Nemanja Matic, Jordan Veretout and Tanner Tessmann all preferring to anchor Lyon's midfield at the expense of Caqueret. The latter only featured fourteen times this campaign and started just eight games. Caqueret had a rare appearance in midfield for Les Gones in their Coupe de France opener against Feignies-Aulnoye, but he was replaced at half-time.
L'Equipe understands that Como and Lyon have been negotiating in recent days and ultimately agreed on a total package worth 17 million euros. The outlet adds that Caqueret has not yet given the green light for his move to Serie A. However, Caqueret is reportedly a big admirer of Como head coach Cesc Fabregas. The former France U21 international was linked to his formative club on a contract that expires in 2027.
