Jota to make swift Rennes exit

Jota (25) has not yet made an impact at Stade Rennais since switching to Brittany this summer and according to Ouest-France he may not get the chance to do so.

After falling out of favor at Al-Ittihad, the Portuguese winger made the move to Rennes in August for a fee of €8 million. However, it is a step that still needs to be worked out. He fell out of fitness due to his lockout prior to his departure from Saudi Arabia and it took him a while to get up to speed. Once he did, he was quickly injured and by the time he recovered, Jorge Sampaoli had replaced Julian Stéphan on the sidelines.

Jota apparently does not figure in Sampaoli's plans for the winger, who has yet to make a single start since the new manager's arrival. Ouest-France now understands that the former Celtic winger will leave Les Rennais this month and join a foreign club, the identity of which has not been revealed by the publication.
