Reims submit offer for Lyon’s Mahamadou Diawara

As L'Équipe reported at the beginning of December, Mahamadou Diawara (19) wants to leave Olympique Lyonnais in January. He has made just four first-team appearances all season, playing just 37 minutes of football. Foot Mercato now understands that the French youth international has the option to leave OL as Stade de Reims takes an approach.

Diawara has already informed Lyon's hierarchy of his desire to leave the club during the current transfer window. The midfielder was already coveted in the summer, but OL were keen to keep hold of the talented player, who has since seen his progress stagnate due to a lack of first-team opportunities.

It is in this context that Reims made an offer. Les Stadistes are looking for midfield reinforcements, especially with Paris Saint-Germain loanee Gabriel Moscardo set to represent Brazil. Reims' offer for Diawara is a loan with an option to make the deal permanent, Foot Mercato said.
