Javier Mascherano offers Neymar transfer update at Inter Miami

A departure from Al Hilal seems likely for Neymar Jr. in 2025, but its destination is unknown.

The 32-year-old is rumored to be looking to leave the Saudi Pro League as his contract expires at the end of the season.

Following his return from long-term injury, Neymar is yet to open talks over an extension, with reports emerging of a return to Brazil.

Neymar's career famously started at Santos, where he scored an impressive 136 goals in 225 games, before moving to Barcelona in 2013 at the age of 21.

Santos club president Leila Pereira has previously claimed that a deal is close to being done to bring him back in 2025.

However, the latest rumors have linked Neymar with Inter Miami, as part of Barcelona's Lionel Messi-led reunion club in Florida, led by former teammate Javier Mascherano.

Mascherano was asked about the interest in the Brazil international, but he admitted that the MLS salary cap is a major barrier.

“I can't say anything about Ney because we have nothing. He's a great player and all the coaches in the world would love to have him, but we know the MLS salary cap rules so it's impossible for us to have him.”
