Colby Covington has feuded with almost everyone on the UFC roster, including several members of Kill Cliff MMA – the home gym of fellow welterweight star Gilbert Burns.
Just a few weeks ago, Colby Covington called out the popular Brazilian for leaking Chael Sonnen's phone number – so why is a photo of the two UFC stars together at a concert causing such a stir on social media now?

Gilbert Burns explains the story behind Colby Covington's photo
According to Colby Covington, the photo of the two UFC welterweights together after a concert at the Hard Rock Café in Miami was taken simply because Gilbert Burns “is the biggest fan.
“Gilbert is the biggest fan, he's always been a fan of mine… He took a picture of me at Hard Rock a few months ago and it was a lot of fun; he did not release the photo [but] I know Gilbert hung it in his house and framed it because he's such a big fan.”
Unsurprisingly, Burns remembers that interaction very differently.
“You know, it did – just not in the way he says,” the former welterweight title challenger said on the Show Me The Money podcast earlier this week.
“So it was a Brazilian concert that was going on, which was three years ago I think, and as we were walking out, Colby was there and he saw me, and then he called me. [over].
“He called me like 'come here, come here' and I was already ready [to fight] You know, I was ready for something to happen, but then, man, this guy is so fake, bro.
Burns claimed that Covington quickly left his divisive persona behind for a friendlier guise, with 'Chaos' reportedly taking several minutes to discuss how he is such a big fan of 'Durinho'.
“He said, 'Oh Gilbert, I'm a big fan, you're a warrior, I respect you [for being a] Family man, you know, if I ever say anything about you, it's just to advertise [and] I'm sorry'.
“And then he kept going, kept saying, 'Bro, you're such a warrior, I'm a big fan, I always watch your fights,' and I was like, 'Okay, bro' – it [was all] too many.”
Burns acknowledged that he was surprised by the interaction, but quickly added that he was ready to throw down if Covington had spoken outside his term.
“I was ready, not with the wrong energy [because] if he said anything until security came, i would [have] I beat the hell out of you, so I was kind of on that energy. But when he started saying that, it slowed down a little bit.”
Gilbert Burns' next fight is reportedly set for UFC Miami in April
Gilbert Burns had a tough 2024, dropping results to Jack Della Maddalena in March and Sean Brady in September – so what's next for the popular welterweight?
According to Brazilian martial arts retailer AG Fight, Burns will return to the octagon in April this year when the UFC arrives back in Miami.
That event has not yet been officially confirmed by the promotion, but is rumored to take place on April 12 – his alleged next opponent, undefeated Ecuadorian, Michael Morales.
Morales burst onto the scene in 2021 and has five impressive victories in the UFC octagon, including a sensational first-round knockout of Neil Magny last August.
A showdown between Burns and Morales would be a phenomenal match; Does 'Durinho' have what it takes to turn back the next generation of welterweights, or will the 17-0 newcomer add a huge scalp to his resume?
