Lens has accepted Manchester City's bid for Abdukodir Khusanov.
An agreement has been reached between the clubs for £33.5 million (€40 million) plus bonuses.
Uzbek international central defender Khusanov, 20, is close to signing a four-and-a-half-year contract, which also includes the option of another year until June 2030.
The news comes after Omar Marmoush agreed in principle to a move from Eintracht Frankfurt to City, pending an agreement between the clubs.
The German club are demanding around £67 million (€80 million) for the 25-year-old Egyptian international and negotiations are expected to begin soon.
An opening bid could come as early as this weekend. Marmoush wants the move because he knows he is currently City boss Pep Guardiola's number one target.
There is no release clause for the forward and offers significantly below the aforementioned figure are expected to be rejected by the Bundesliga club, who sit third in the German top flight.
The City and Marmoush camp considers a transfer fee of 42 to 50 million euros more realistic.
Marmoush, who can operate in any position in the front three, has scored 13 goals in the Bundesliga so far this season, with only Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane scoring more.
He has scored 18 goals in all competitions this season and is second only to his international teammate, Liverpool striker Mohamed Salah, in goals scored in Europe's top five competitions this season.
City in talks with Palmeiras over Reis deal
Meanwhile, Manchester City are still negotiating a deal for Vitor Reis with Palmeiras.
Palmeiras are said to be hopeful of a fee of between £33.5 and £40 million for the talented 18-year-old centre-back.
The defender played 22 games for Palmeiras last season, scoring two goals.
He also captained the Brazilian U17 team at the 2023 U17 World Cup.
Travel 'not yet Premier League ready'
South American football expert Tim Vickery speaks about Vitor Reis in Sky Sports News' Transfer Talk:
“Palmeiras are competing in the Club World Cup and they really want to keep hold of this centre-back, who turns 19 next week.
“I don't think he's anywhere close to Premier League ready at the moment. He's got class but he needs to supplement physically.
“Palmeiras has produced a lot of good players recently, most of them strikers.
“If you were to put him in the Premier League now, he would really be bullied. So maybe it is in everyone's interest that he stays in Brazilian football a little longer.”
“But Palmeiras is reluctant to sell before the Club World Cup.”
