Barcelona reject ‘below par’ Juventus offer for Ronald Araujo

Juventus have reportedly made the first move in their pursuit of Barcelona star Ronald Araujo in January.

The situation has evolved rapidly in recent days, with Barcelona seemingly open to a quick sale to ease their financial woes.

The Uruguayan defender, who is reportedly unhappy with his new role in Catalonia, could make a move before the end of the winter transfer window if a deal can be struck between the two clubs.

Early indications suggest Barcelona will only accept bids in the region of €60-70 million, despite rumors from Diario Sport that this figure could be reduced to €45-50 million.

That theory has been tested by an opening bid from Juventus, according to Mundo Deportivo, with Barcelona immediately rejecting an undisclosed bid from Turin.

The details of the fee have not yet been confirmed, but Barcelona are willing to stick with their initial valuation for now, and the reduction is expected to be small, with €55 million likely to be their lowest compromise.
