MU transfer: Marcus Rashford meets fresh suitor as Kobbie Mainoo price tag set

The January transfer window is almost two weeks old, but Manchester United have still not completed a deal of any kind.

United are in dire need of a revamp as new boss Ruben Amorim looks to turn their fortunes around. However, it has been a difficult reign for the 39-year-old so far, with several issues cropping up.

One of those issues has been Marcus Rashford, who is free to leave Old Trafford after making it clear he feels ready for a new challenge. But his lucrative wages are currently a stumbling block for his potential suitors.

Elsewhere, United continue contract talks with Kobbie Mainoo, although he has reluctantly had to put a price tag on his head. Here, Mirror Football collects all the latest Manchester United transfer news.

Rashford meets a new suitor

Marcus Rashford's agent Dwaine Maynard has reportedly met with Juventus as he looks to secure a move for his client. Rashford is keen to leave Manchester United, but sees a possible move to AC Milan stagnating.

Reports in Italy now claim that Maynard has expanded the search for a new club. It is understood the agent met with Milan's bitter Serie A rivals Juventus, who presented their project and plans for Rashford.

Milan remain 'in discussions', with Juve also eyeing a transfer for Randal Kolo Muani. The Italian duo are joined in the hunt for Rashford by Borussia Dortmund, with talks taking place with all three clubs.

Warning sent to star

While a move abroad currently appears to be Rashford's only exit option, former Liverpool and Portsmouth star Glen Johnson believes it would be the wrong decision. He warned that an exit from the Premier League could be 'the end' for the striker.

“From the outside it doesn't look like Marcus Rashford has a future at the club. He is still a very good player who can offer a lot. I think he will get a lot of offers because of his ability,” Johnson said.

“I hope Rashford doesn't move abroad because in terms of his reputation that would be the end of him. I know it can be hard to reject those moves because of the amount of money, but he's still too young.'

Mainoo price tag set

Manchester United bosses have slapped a £70million price tag on Kobbie Mainoo's head as talks over a new contract continue to stall. Mainoo has grown into an important player over the past 18 months.

But little progress has been made in handing him a new contract. These issues have caught the attention of Premier League rivals Chelsea, who are reportedly monitoring the midfielder's situation.

With United boss Ruben Amorim keen for Mainoo to stay, the club has taken steps to curb Chelsea's interest. Red Devils chiefs have made it clear that only an 'exorbitant offer' of around £70m could tempt them into a sale.
