There has been a lot of speculation in recent days about Ronald Araujo's future at Barcelona. He is said to be unhappy, to the point that he now wants to leave – and given his contract situation, that could be the best thing for the Catalan club too.
But while Araujo may want to leave, his manager doesn't want him to leave. According to MD, Hansi Flick made his thoughts on this clear during his press conference on Saturday.
“I want Araujo in my team because he is one of the best defenders. He is a professional and is now fit, recovered from his injury, so he can help us.”
Flick also sent a message to his Barcelona side, amid increasing controversy surrounding the team, which has come about due to a number of incidents, the Araujo case being one of them.
“I told the team: there is only outside noise, you have to be coherent and strong. It's a great season, we've done well overall, even if we didn't get the points we wanted. It's good to learn from all games and this is the goal. We have to be focused. We played well for the club and we can do even better. It's what we want.”
