Real Madrid look set to miss out on two of their centre-backs against Manchester City, and it turns out another could also be headed to the Premier League in Jorrel Hato.
Hato has been on Real Madrid's radar for several months as they look for a long-term centre-back in preparation for life after Antonio Rudiger and David Alaba. The 18-year-old fits the bill in terms of the club's transfer policy, although they could miss out on him as Chelsea are said to be favorites for his signature, according to CaughtOffside.
Arsenal are also interested in Hato, but it is Chelsea who are at the forefront of the race to sign the teenage sensation. If they can make sales in the coming weeks, it is not impossible that they will approach Ajax before the winter transfer window closes in early February.
Hato would be an ideal signing for Real Madrid as they need a left-footed centre-back to partner Eder Militao/Raul Asencio in the future. However, they could lose again, as they had already let Abdukodir Khusanov and Vitor Reis escape.
