Saudi Pro League CEO hints at movement in Vinicius Junior pursuit

It is no secret that Saudi Arabia wants to sign Vinicius Junior from Real Madrid, although that seems unlikely at this stage. Nevertheless, Saudi Pro League officials are not giving up their pursuit easily.

Omar Mugharbel, the CEO of the SPL, spoke to Diario AS about the interest in Vinicius, which he did not deny.

“We have different clubs at different levels. With different levels of maturity. It happens in all competitions around the world. There are teams that can attract that type of player, but there are also teams that still need to develop much further. And if I evaluate based on what we have today, our clubs have everything it takes to attract, develop and nurture such talent. So let's wait and see what happens with (Vinicius).”

Vinicius' future has been the subject of much speculation in recent weeks, although the latest developments say that Real Madrid will offer their star player a new contract at the end of the season. If that happens, Saudi Arabia should certainly go further, even if they remain hopeful for now.
