Match report
After ending with a win before the winter break, Bayern were able to regain their four-point lead at the top of the table with the win at Borussia Park.
Bayern controlled the match in the first half, with around 75% possession, but struggled to convert that into goals despite going close to Thomas Müller and Leon Goretzka.
In the 68th minute they finally broke through. Lukas Ullrich caught Michael Olise in the penalty area to give away the penalty, and Kane sent Moritz Nicolas the wrong way to break the deadlock, netting his 15th league goal of the season.
Bayern then had opportunities to secure the points. Both Alphonso Davies and Serge Gnabry forced impressive saves from the Gladbach keeper in the closing stages, but were unable to increase the lead.
Vincent Kompany's team is in first place with 39 points after sixteen games. Gladbach remains in 10th place.
HAPPY TO BE BACK!!!
We mark our return to #Bundesliga action with a W at Gladbach!

Data debrief: Kane on site
Omar Marmoush's goal earlier on Saturday moved him level with Kane at the top of the Bundesliga scoring charts, but the England international again drew clear.
His fifteenth goal of the campaign proved crucial to a win, as Bayern struggled to find a way behind Gladbach for much of the match.
Kompany will probably feel that his team should have shown more for their performance. They had 23 shots, 10 of which were on target, while accumulating 3.27 expected goals (xG).
Gladbach, on the other hand, did not test Manuel Neuer in any of their five attempts. Their heroic defending kept them in the match, but ultimately they didn't have enough in the final third to earn a point.
