James Rodriguez's disastrous spell at Rayo Vallecano is now over and both parties have already started to think about the future. The 33-year-old is thinking about his next club and it appears a return west is on the cards.
In recent weeks he has been linked to several clubs around the world. There was mention of a homecoming in Colombia, but he declined. Instead, he will soon join Mexican side Club Leon, according to Diario AS.
A deal is almost complete and Rodriguez will travel to Mexico in the coming days to complete formalities. It will be a one-year contract that he signs.
Rayo have also parted ways with James, who was barely used during his five-month spell at Vallecas. The disappointment for both parties will undoubtedly be great, although there is little that can be done about it now.
