AC Milan coach Conceicao admits “boiling on touchline” during win at Como

Assane Diao had Como ahead before Milan took control through goals from Theo Hernandez and Rafael Leao.

“I was seething with excitement on the sidelines,” Conceicao told Sky Italia.

“I'm also not used to doing pre-match interviews. I don't even speak to my family, let alone the media, two to three hours before a match, but there are rules and I have to get used to them.

“It was a lot of suffering because we played against a good team with good players and they are well trained.

“We prepare for matches with video lessons and whiteboards, but we don't get time to work on training on the field and we miss a lot of things. We need to be much more present in offensive and defensive matches.

“In any case, we always see a good response and it is easier to work when we have positive results to build on. There is still a lot to improve on, we can't always allow 5-6 scoring chances.”

Conceicao added: “We are playing against good opponents and will have a hard time if we don't do what we have prepared. Things went better after half-time, especially after we conceded the goal. We need to be more solid as a unit, we can't allow the opponents to keep passing it around us so easily.

“I tell the boys: the basis of football is strength. If you don't give in, we will eventually score with the quality we have available. In four games we have made three comebacks to win, so that means there is character. We can improve physically, tactically, technically and in terms of attitude.”
