Postecoglou warned of Tottenham ‘unrest’ after ‘unacceptable’ loss as Declan Rice claims Arsenal could have scored TEN

ANGE POSTECOGLOU has been warned of 'turmoil' in his Tottenham camp – after Declan Rice handed down a humiliating sentence.

Rice believes Arsenal “should have scored 10” in a 2-1 comeback win that gave Spurs one win in nine Premier League games.

Postecoglou looked as gloomy as any assessment of Tottenham's performance.

And ex-Spurs winger Aaron Lennon believes the manager would be under even greater pressure had there not been a Carabao Cup run.

Tottenham take a 1-0 lead against Liverpool for their semi-final on February 6.

And after watching Spurs slump at the Emirates, Lennon said: “It's causing a lot of unrest in that camp.

“If they weren't in the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup, there would be big problems.

But after needing extra time to beat fifth-tier Tamworth in the FA Cup three days earlier, Postecoglou admitted Tottenham were “nowhere near good enough” against their biggest rivals in the north London derby.

Spurs have scored just nine points from a possible 27, the only win in that dreadful run coming in a 5-0 romp against bottom club Southampton on December 15.

Their furious fans have seen just one Arsenal win in their last 32 visits.

And Tottenham's tally of 24 points from 21 games this season means they are closer to Southampton's total of six points than the Gunners' 43 points.

Dominic Solanke's own goal and Leandro Trossard's flashy finish canceled out Son Heung-min's opener on Wednesday evening.

And Gunners midfielder Rice said: “That meant more than anything. From the first minute it was pure domination. You could tell it was a Derby.”

“To be honest, we were unlucky. We probably should have scored 10 tonight.”

Postecoglou was almost as cruel in his analysis – and blamed himself.

He told TNT Sports: “Not good enough, especially in the first half. We were too passive. We let Arsenal dictate the game.

“The second half was a little bit better and not nearly good enough. Not acceptable.

“Ultimately the responsibility lies with me and with the way I prepare the players.

“I'm more interested in how we play and we weren't anywhere near the level today.

“Of course her [defeats] hurt me. Not acceptable. Too many losses this year. Too many games escape us. It has to stop.

“If you give up now there's no point. Right now we have a big game against Everton this weekend. That's our focus.”

Spurs are still eight points ahead of the drop zone – and even a point above Manchester United.

But losing to the out-of-form Toffees on Sunday, who will be hoping returning boss David Moyes can turn them around, could see Postecoglou's men drop from an embarrassing 13th to a shocking 15th.

The Aussie told BBC's Match of the Day: “When we play well and take the game to teams, we are at our best and we didn't do that today.”

But Tottenham's biggest problem lies much more in leaking goals than in not scoring them

Spurs scored 43 times – second only to leaders Liverpool's 48 – but conceded 32.
