Ange Postecoglou admitted Tottenham were “almost not good enough” in their north London derby defeat to Arsenal.
Spurs were beaten 2-1 at the Emirates Stadium after the Gunners came from behind to complete the Premier League double over their bitter rivals.
Tottenham, who took an early lead through Son Heung-min, have now lost 18 points this season due to winning positions, while only Fulham (19) have lost more.
The result left them 13th in the Premier League and without a win in five league games, while they have now failed to win their last six meetings with Arsenal.
And Postecoglou couldn't hide the disappointment he felt in his team.
“Not good enough, especially not in the first half,” he told TNT Sports. “We were too passive. We let Arsenal dictate the game.
“The second half was a little better, but not nearly good enough. Not acceptable.
“Ultimately the responsibility is on me and how I prepare the players. I'm more interested in how we play, and we weren't anywhere near the level today.
“Of course, her [defeats] hurt me. Not acceptable. Too many losses this year. Too many games escape us. It has to stop.”
Son agreed with his head coach after his opener was canceled out by a Dominic Solanke own goal, before Leandro Trossard struck the winner for the hosts.
“Very disappointing,” the Spurs captain added. “This match means a lot to the club and the fans.
“The manager is right. We were too passive. We always want to apply pressure and play as high as possible. The first half was not good enough.”
“It's also up to the players. You have to listen to what we want to do. I don't think we were disciplined enough. We have to do better in every area. If you look at the table, it's not good enough.”
