Dana White provides an update on the UFC fight ‘nobody will see coming’ in 2025

In 2024, the UFC had its most successful year yet, breaking their own records several times and taking the already powerful promotion to the next level.

In its 32 years of existence, the UFC has quickly become the largest combat sports promotion in the world, but that has not been without its share of setbacks.

CEO Dana White has been consistently praised for his role in the company's growth beyond the sport, and in 2024 the promotion broke a number of records of its own with more historic events.

The historic UFC 306 event from the Las Vegas Sphere broke several records last September, becoming the highest-grossing UFC event ever.

Dana White gives an update on the UFC fight 'no one will see coming' in 2025

As he does every year at the end of the year, White was asked late last year how he could possibly beat 2024 given the tremendous success the company has enjoyed.

In typical white fashion, the UFC boss excited fans by stating that he is asked the same question every year and that he always exceeds expectations the following year.

And with that, White also claimed he's working on a “crazy” fight that “no one will see coming” before 2025, leading fans to speculate about which fight the boss could be talking about.

Shortly after White made that revelation, UFC star Conor McGregor announced that he was in talks with Logan Paul for a possible boxing fight in India, leading fans to believe that this could be the fight White was talking about.

Despite this, the 55-year-old has now given an update on the fight that 'no one will see coming', putting the McGregor rumors to bed.

“No (McGregor will not fight Logan Paul). No, no, no,” White told Pardon My Take.

“What I talked about in December, yeah, I imagine it's probably going to happen and it's going to happen in the fall, a fight I'm working on (and you'll never see it coming),” he teased.

While the UFC mogul has dismissed claims of McGregor vs Paul or even McGregor vs KSI, he did admit he expects the Irishman to return to the Octagon this fall as well.

Fans are starting to speculate about which fight Dana White could be facing

White's comments have once again led fans to speculate about which fight he could possibly be talking about, with some fans putting two and two together and claiming he is talking about a McGregor fight.

“It's Conor McGregor vs Nate Diaz 3, bookmark this,” one fan commented.

McGregor and Nate Diaz shared one of the greatest rivalries in combat sports history. They first met in 2016, when the Stockton fighter scored one of the biggest victories ever, beating McGregor in the second round.

They reunited just over four months later and the Irishman exacted revenge with a narrow majority win, leveling their rivalry at 1-1. Since then, fans have been calling for the trilogy fight, but Diaz left the promotion in 2022, but his return has been continuously teased.

“My guess is Conor vs. (Jorge) Masvidal,” another fan speculated.

I wonder if it's a cross-fight with a boxer because there aren't that many fights in the UFC that “no one will see coming” and that's big enough for him to talk about it that much.

“I wonder if Tyson Fury will make his UFC debut,” another fan wondered. Tyson Fury recently announced his retirement from boxing and throughout his career he has teased a possible fight in the Octagon.

With the promotion consistently putting on incredible fights, fans will have to wait and see what the promotion has in store for a big 2025.
