Logan Paul and Conor McGregor's ongoing discussions about a possible boxing match are more direct than most people were led to believe.
UFC superstar Conor McGregor nearly broke the internet a few weeks ago when he announced he had entered into “tentative agreements” to face Logan Paul in a boxing match in India later this year. While nothing has been formally booked or announced yet, at the time of writing the two sides appear equally interested in making the fight happen.
Rumors went wild about the fight, revealing a potential total purse of $500 million to make the fight happen. UFC CEO Dana White, who should give McGregor the green light to box Paul, shut down speculation earlier this week.
But that hasn't stopped McGregor and Paul from fanning the flames of speculation. There were also rumors that McGregor was actively in talks with Logan's brother, Jake Paul, in a dueling fight, but nothing has materialized yet.
Amid the chaos surrounding McGregor vs. Paul, Paul assured fans that the fight talks are serious as he leaked a recent phone conversation with McGregor in which the former two-division champion appears stuck on signing on the dotted line.

Logan Paul and Conor McGregor's leaked phone conversation shows the fight talks are serious
Paul leaked a recent phone conversation with McGregor to his YouTube channel.
“This fight really can and will happen, my man. This can and will happen,” McGregor said in a conversation with Paul.
In a recent vlog uploaded to his YouTube channel, Paul responded to McGregor's call.
“It would be something that I would leave WWE for a while to do,” Paul said. 'I think he's trying to apply pressure [UFC CEO Dana White] to make it happen because he is owned by the UFC. He can't fuck, let alone fight, without them knowing.'
Paul initially appeared to pour cold water on the McGregor fight when he recently proclaimed that he is fully committed to furthering his professional wrestling career with WWE. But the itch to compete in boxing is still in Paul, who hasn't fought since a disqualification win over Dillon Danis in 2023.
According to White, McGregor is targeting a UFC comeback by the end of the year after headlining UFC 303 against Michael Chandler last June. Chandler remains the most likely opponent for McGregor's return to the UFC.
The speculation between Logan Paul and Conor McGregor enters a new chapter after a leaked call
McGregor has not fought in MMA since shattering his leg against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264. His only professional boxing fight came against Boxing Hall Famer Floyd Mayweather Jr. in their infamous 2017 “money fight,” in which he lost by TKO.
Paul is 1-1 in his professional boxing career with a split-decision loss to fellow influencer KSI. He and McGregor share a common opponent after Paul fought Mayweather in a full-distance exhibition boxing match in 2021.
Adding to the ongoing fight talk was White's recent tease of a “major announcement” in 2025, in which he recently elaborated on a fight he is looking to secure for later this year. While some speculated it was related to the McGregor vs. Paul fight, White has since dismissed those rumors but did not elaborate on who is involved in his ongoing booking.
In the meantime, the talks between McGregor and Paul appear legitimate, but the two sides would have to put aside their current contracts to make this happen. Either way, McGregor and Paul could soon be on a collision course.
