Real Madrid are still determined to sign Trent Alexander-Arnold in January, rather than waiting to sign him for free in the summer. An opening bid was rejected by Liverpool earlier this month, but that has not deterred club bosses in their search for the English right-back.
Right-back has become a problem position for Real Madrid since Dani Carvajal suffered a season-ending ACL injury, with Lucas Vazquez unreliable in big games. As a result, it was decided this week that a second offer will be sent to Liverpool in the coming days, according to Marca.
While there is no doubt that Real Madrid will want to land Alexander-Arnold as soon as possible, agreeing a deal with Liverpool will be extremely difficult given his importance to the Premier League leaders. Still, there will be an effort and it at least looks like he will leave for the Santiago Bernabeu at the end of the season.
