Aston Villa dented Arsenal's Premier League title challenge again after two goals to a 2-2 draw at the Emirates Stadium.
Gabriel Martinelli put the Gunners ahead in the 35th minute, with visiting goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez unable to prevent the Brazilian from crossing the line.
Kai Havertz then shot Arsenal further ahead 10 minutes after the restart, with the hosts looking to close the gap with leaders Liverpool, who defeated Brentford earlier on Saturday.
But Youri Tielemans reduced the deficit on the hour mark when he powerfully headed substitute Lucas Digne's cross past David Raya to score his second top goal of the season.
Eight minutes later the turnaround was complete when Matty Cash's ball into the penalty area was brilliantly cleared by Ollie Watkins, who smashed the ball in off the crossbar.
Arsenal thought they had secured victory when Mikel Merino's strike was deflected off Havertz, with the goal given on the pitch but overturned by the referee following a VAR review after the ball went in off the German's hand came.
Mikel Arteta's side continued to push for a winner in the closing stages, with Merino hitting the post and Trossard's follow-up rebound saved by Martinez, but they could not find a way out late on.
Villa's comeback sees them rise to seventh place, while Arsenal remain second but are now six points behind Arne Slot's side, who also have a game in hand.
Data Debrief: Villa play the Villans again
In April last year, Arsenal saw their title bid dented after a 2-0 defeat to Villa in the Emirates, and they may have seen this year's Premier League slip through their grasp against the same opponent on home turf.
The Gunners have now failed to win a home Premier League game in which they led by two or more goals for the first time since October 2019 (2-2 vs Crystal Palace), having led each of their last 46 won tonight.
Arsenal have lost 12 points from gaining positions in the Premier League this season, the most in a single season since 2019/20 (21).
Villa, meanwhile, avoided defeat in an away match in the Premier League in which they trailed by two or more goals for the first time since November 2013 (2-2 against West Bromwich Albion), ending a run of 52 consecutive defeats.
