Real Madrid could sign young midfielder compared to Pedri for as little as €2m
Tenerife talent Aaron Martin is one of many young players in the second division who are exciting some of the best clubs in Spain. The 17-year-old midfielder looks like the latest technically gifted talent to emerge from the Canary Islands, and he may not last long for Segunda.
Last week it was reported that Real Madrid and Sevilla were scouting Martin, who has made nine appearances this season, scoring once and also assisting. Martin stands out for his technical skill, precise passing and vision, leading to comparisons with Barcelona star Pedri – although this is undoubtedly mainly due to the fact that they come from the same island. Diario AS say his price tag could be as little as €2 million, which will also have Los Blancos interested. They see him as someone who can add quality to Castilla immediately – something they will look to do in the January transfer market – and to the first team in the long term.
Previously, Sevilla was chosen as favorite because of his signature. Real Madrid could generally convince the top talents in Spain to join them, but having already tasted football in the second division, Martin may be wondering whether he wants to move down to the third tier with Castilla. Moreover, Martin's pursuit comes amid a lively debate at Real Madrid about the lack of opportunities for young players.
